Setup Instructions

Company portal is a Microsoft app you can download to your mobile device that facilitates secure access to Vera resources via Office 365 apps, including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive. Follow the steps in this document to download the app and set up access for your mobile iOS iPhone or iPad device.

If your device is an older model and is not automatically updating with the latest iOS security updates you may not be compliant and therefore may not be allowed access.  Contact Vera IT for the latest minimum security update list.

Before you start, you may want to set up your 6-digit passcode:

If you have a 4-digit pin passcode, you will be required to change it to a 6-digit pin during the enrollment process.

To manually change your passcode before enrollment, on your iOS device go to the Settings app -> Face ID & Passcode -> Change Passcode.

Vera Managed Apps

Outlook and Microsoft Authenticator apps are required and are automatically installed for you – they usually download immediately during enrollment but may take up to 8 hours to appear on your device.

The Microsoft Authenticator app is used to verify your identity allowing access to your Vera Microsoft 365 account for other apps. You don’t need to do anything with this app. It works in the background and is required to ensure you have access.

You may see this message pop-up when it is installing.  Click on Install.

Outlook Email Account Setup

To add your Vera email account to Outlook, follow the steps below.

Open the Outlook app, click on the Home/Inbox icon in the top left corner.  Click on the Settings Gear Icon -> Add Mail Account.  Click Add Mail Account.  Click Open Authenticator.  The Authenticator should open, unlock and then re-open Outlook.  Your Vera email account should now be loading in Outlook.

You may install other Vera managed apps yourself from the Company Portal app or the Apple Apps Store.  Apps such as Microsoft Teams, Office, Word, Excel, OneNote, SharePoint, Ring Central Meetings and OneDrive.  Outlook has a built-in previewer for most file types to view attachments but to edit a document or spreadsheet you will need the appropriate app installed such as Microsoft Office.

Note:  The first time you install, open, or use a Vera managed app you may see several pop-up messages. The app may display a message about now being managed by your organization and needing to close and restart the app.  This is normal behavior and should only occur the first opening for each Vera managed app. Be sure to click Install or Manage when asked.  Below are some of the pop-ups you may see:

P176#yIS1    P176#yIS2     P176#yIS3

To use one of the other Vera managed apps, install the app from the Company Portal or from the Apple App Store.

To install from the Company Portal app, open the Company Portal app, click Apps in the bottom command bar, and click on View all apps.  Click on an app you would like to install and click Install and follow the installation instructions.  The app will download and be available from your device screen.  Open the app and sign in using your Vera email account.

You do not come to the Company Portal to access apps once they have been installed – access them as you would other apps on your iOS device.
